Exporting leads out of your CRM is one of those chores that eats an hour and still leaves you with a messy dump nobody wants to read. This skill fixes that. It is a single SKILL.md file you drop into Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, and it turns "export my CRM leads to Google Sheets" into a two-minute job. It reads your leads (never touching or editing anything in the CRM), lets you filter by date range, source, and owner, and builds a properly formatted lead tracker with a summary block, per-owner totals, and a full CSV backup. If you have ever searched for a CRM export tool or a lead tracking Google Sheets template, this does the export and the template in one pass, on demand, in your own AI assistant.

What you gain
  • Get a clean, formatted lead sheet in minutes instead of copy-pasting CRM rows by hand
  • Filter exactly what you need: date range, lead source (all, WhatsApp, paid ads, or organic), and owner
  • See per-owner totals and a summary block at the top so you know volume at a glance
  • Keep a full CSV backup as your source of truth, even when the sheet is trimmed for readability
  • Know where every lead came from with a channel-detection column you can actually audit
  • Work read only: the skill never edits, tags, or moves anything in your CRM
How it works, step by step
  • 1
Drop the skill into your assistant

Add the single SKILL.md file to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. No install, no build step, no separate app to open.

  • 2
Point it at your CRM and spreadsheet

Tell it which CRM to read and whether to create a new Google Sheet or add a tab to an existing one. It works with the accounts you already have.

  • 3
    Confirm the scope

It asks before it runs: which date range, which lead sources (all, WhatsApp, paid ads, organic), which owners, and new sheet versus new tab. Nothing happens until you approve.

  • 4
It reads the leads (read only)

It pulls each lead with name, phone, email, created date, source, tags, pipeline stage, owner, last activity, and deal value, paginating until every matching lead is collected. It never modifies the CRM.

  • 5
    It builds the sheet

It creates a formatted lead tracker: frozen header, active filters, adjusted column widths, alternating row bands, a summary block up top with total and per-owner counts, and a channel-detection column so you can trace how each lead arrived.

  • 6
    You get the output

A ready-to-share Google Sheet plus a complete CSV backup. For large exports it loads the most recent rows into the sheet and keeps every lead in the CSV, telling you the exact split.

What it generates
  • A formatted Google Sheets lead tracker with summary and per-owner totals
  • A complete CSV export of every matching lead as your source of truth
  • A standard 10-column layout: owner, created date, name, phone, email, source, tags, pipeline stage, last activity, deal value
  • A channel-detection column showing how each lead entered (paid ad to WhatsApp, organic to DM, existing lead with recent chat, and more)
  • A new tab added to an existing spreadsheet when you prefer to keep everything in one file
  • A short summary of totals, owners, and any anomalies worth flagging
Variations

Leads by owner or consultant

Group and total the export by owner so each rep sees only their leads, with a per-owner rollup at the top.

WhatsApp-only leads

Isolate leads that arrived or converted through WhatsApp using multiple signals, including paid ads and organic social that moved into DM or chat, so you do not miss the ones a simple filter would drop.

New tab in an existing tracker

Instead of a fresh file, add a dated, labeled tab to your current spreadsheet and keep the same styling.

FAQ
What is the Export Leads skill?

It is a SKILL.md file you add to your AI assistant that exports leads from your CRM into a clean, filtered Google Sheet plus a full CSV. It reads your CRM only, so it never changes any contact, tag, or pipeline while it works.

Does it work with Claude, Cursor, and Codex?

Yes. It works with any AI assistant that reads a SKILL.md file, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. You use it inside the assistant you already have open.

Do I need to install anything or pay for a subscription?

No. There is no separate app, no subscription, and no API key to run the skill itself. You just drop in the file and connect it to the CRM and spreadsheet you already use.

Can I filter which leads get exported?

Yes. You can filter by date range, lead source (all, WhatsApp, paid ads, or organic), and owner, and you choose a new sheet or a new tab in an existing one. The skill confirms the scope before it runs.

Will it change anything in my CRM?

No. The export is strictly read only. It pulls the lead data, builds the sheet and CSV, and leaves every contact, tag, and pipeline untouched. Empty fields stay empty; it never invents data.

Do I need design or coding skills to use it?

None. You describe what you want in plain language (period, sources, owners), approve the scope, and the skill handles the export, formatting, and CSV for you.

New to AI skills?

An AI skill is a small, reusable instruction file (a SKILL.md) that teaches an AI assistant to do one job well. Export Leads is exactly that: a Claude skill / AI agent skill you drop into your own assistant and run on demand, with no app, no subscription and no lock-in. You own the file forever.

It runs in Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and any assistant that reads a SKILL.md or a system prompt. Because it is just text, it is fully portable, and if it needs something to run, export leads asks you for it first instead of inventing.

Creators reach for it as a podcast clips AI and an AI podcast clip generator, to turn a podcast into Shorts and to pull podcast highlights automatically, finding the best podcast moments without scrubbing the whole episode.

How to install and run it
  1. Download the file after checkout you get the SKILL.md plus a short README and your license.
  2. Add it to your AI drop SKILL.md into your skills folder (for example .claude/skills/) or paste its contents as a custom instruction.
  3. Run it ask your AI to use Export Leads, give it what it asks for, and it does the work.
