Every meeting ends with good intentions and a messy pile of notes. This meeting action plan skill closes that gap. It is a single SKILL.md file you drop into your own AI assistant, and it turns raw meeting notes, a transcript, or a chat thread into a clean, structured action plan that a client can actually read and follow. Instead of a flat action plan template you fill in by hand, the skill reads what was discussed, cross-references the context, and organizes everything into diagnosis, client-side actions, delivery-side actions, an execution sequence, blockers, and a macro checklist. You get meeting action items with clear owners and priorities in minutes, ready to share.

What you gain
  • Turn scattered meeting notes into a structured, client-ready action plan in minutes
  • Every task gets a clear owner (client side or your team) and a relative priority, so nothing falls through the cracks
  • A logical execution sequence organized by phase, not by rigid calendar dates that go stale
  • Blockers and dependencies surfaced up front, so you see what is waiting on what
  • A tidy macro checklist of the main milestones you can track against week to week
  • A consistent, professional format across every client and every meeting
How it works, step by step
  • 1
Drop the SKILL.md into your assistant

Add the file to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no API key to paste in.

  • 2
    Point it at your meeting

Give it your meeting notes, a transcript, a recap, or even a chat thread. Tell it whose meeting it was and what the goal is, and it works from that source.

  • 3
    It reads and cross-references

The skill reads the source, pulls out the real decisions and open items, and cross-references the business context so the plan reflects what actually matters, not just a generic list.

  • 4
It asks before anything it needs

If something is missing (for example, the brand colors for the final document or which meeting to use when there is more than one) it asks you first instead of guessing.

  • 5
    It structures the plan

It organizes everything into six sections: a base diagnosis, actions owned by the client, actions owned by your team grouped by area, an execution sequence by phase, blockers and dependencies, and a macro follow-up checklist.

  • 6
    You review and share

You get a clean action plan with owners and priorities. Review it, tweak anything, and share it with the client. It never sends anything on its own.

What it generates
  • A structured meeting action plan with six clear sections
  • A base diagnosis summarizing the points that triggered the plan
  • Client-side and team-side action checklists, grouped by area
  • An execution sequence organized by phase (immediate, short term, medium term, ongoing)
  • A blockers and dependencies list showing what waits on what
  • A macro follow-up checklist of the main milestones, plus a polished, brand-colored document version
Variations

From a live transcript

Feed it a raw meeting transcript instead of tidy notes. It extracts the decisions and open items and builds the same structured plan.

From a chat thread

Point it at a message thread or email recap when there was no formal meeting, and it turns the back and forth into a clean action plan.

Weekly recurring plan

Run it after every recurring check-in to produce a consistent, comparable action plan each week, so progress is easy to track over time.

FAQ
What is the Action Plan skill?

It is a SKILL.md file you add to your AI assistant. It reads your meeting notes or transcript and writes a structured, client-ready action plan with owners, priorities, and an execution sequence, instead of leaving you to fill in a blank template by hand.

Does it work with Claude, Cursor, and Codex?

Yes. It works with any assistant that reads a SKILL.md file, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. The same file runs in all of them.

Do I need to install anything or pay a subscription?

No. There is no separate app, no subscription, and no API key. You drop the SKILL.md into your assistant and run it.

What do I have to give it?

Just the source of the meeting: notes, a transcript, a recap, or a chat thread, plus a quick note on whose meeting it was and the goal. If it needs anything else, like brand colors for the final document, it asks you first.

Will it send the plan to my client automatically?

No. It only writes and organizes the plan. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you decide to share it yourself, so you always review before the client sees it.

Do I need design or coding skills to use it?

None at all. If you can paste your meeting notes and read the result, you can use it. The structure, formatting, and priorities are handled for you.

New to AI skills?

An AI skill is a small, reusable instruction file (a SKILL.md) that teaches an AI assistant to do one job well. Action Plan is exactly that: a Claude skill / AI agent skill you drop into your own assistant and run on demand, with no app, no subscription and no lock-in. You own the file forever.

It runs in Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and any assistant that reads a SKILL.md or a system prompt. Because it is just text, it is fully portable, and if it needs something to run, action plan asks you for it first instead of inventing.

Creators reach for it as a podcast clips AI and an AI podcast clip generator, to turn a podcast into Shorts and to pull podcast highlights automatically, finding the best podcast moments without scrubbing the whole episode.

How to install and run it
  1. Download the file after checkout you get the SKILL.md plus a short README and your license.
  2. Add it to your AI drop SKILL.md into your skills folder (for example .claude/skills/) or paste its contents as a custom instruction.
  3. Run it ask your AI to use Action Plan, give it what it asks for, and it does the work.
