Module 9 · Project and quiz

Your Automated Monthly Report

Build the monthly report for your own business from real files: sales, marketing, cash and operations, with an executive commentary you would be happy to show a partner or investor. This becomes the report that Module 10 will generate automatically every month.

1Document one back-office process as an SOP using the SOP template and test it on last month's files.
2Create the monthly data folder and collect the exports for last month.
3Run the reconciliation and aging report for the month, with your review of every medium or low confidence line.
4Fill the Monthly Executive Report template from the data, with every number citing its source file.
5Ask for the executive commentary and push back until it is specific.
6Verify the five most important numbers against the source files.
7Choose your dashboard KPIs in the KPI sheet and generate the one-page dashboard.
8Record how long the whole process took versus your previous monthly routine.

Deliverable

A monthly executive report and a one-page owner dashboard for your business, generated from your own files, plus one documented SOP and the time saved compared with before.

Done when

  • Every number in the report cites a source file.
  • No number was estimated; missing data is marked as missing.
  • You personally verified at least five figures.
  • The dashboard shows 8 to 12 KPIs with targets and status colours.
  • You wrote down the hours the old process took and the hours the new one took.

What is the safest way to give Claude Code your bank data for reconciliation?

Exported files give the agent what it needs while keeping your bank account completely out of reach.

In the monthly report, what should Claude do when a number cannot be found in the data?

An honest gap is better than a confident guess. Estimates hidden in a report destroy trust.

Why does every categorised transaction get a confidence level?

The confidence flag routes uncertain lines to a person, which makes the whole process safe.

Which step in the collections ladder should always stay human?

Relationships and legal escalation need your judgement. The agent drafts, you decide.

What makes a good owner dashboard?

A dashboard you can read in two minutes, with clear targets, drives decisions. A data dump does not.
