Module 4 · Project and quiz

Your Company CLAUDE.md, Tested on 3 Tasks

Write a complete CLAUDE.md for your business using the template in this module: positioning, offers, ideal clients, voice, red lines, quality bar and folder map. Then prove it works by running three real tasks and fixing whatever the tests reveal.

1Organise your Company folder using the agent-friendly folder structure guide.
2Copy the Company CLAUDE.md template into the root of your Company folder.
3Ask Claude to pre-fill it from your existing files and interview you for the gaps.
4Write your red lines and quality bar, one rule per line with a reason.
5Restart Claude Code and confirm with /context that CLAUDE.md loaded.
6Run three real tasks: a client email, a short analysis and a one-page summary.
7Try to break two red lines on purpose and note what happens.
8Fix any wording that failed and rerun the tests until all three tasks pass.

Deliverable

A tested CLAUDE.md under about 200 lines at the root of your Company folder, plus a short test log showing three tasks and two red-line tests.

Done when

  • CLAUDE.md appears under memory files in /context.
  • A fresh session can describe your ideal client, main offer and voice without other files.
  • The client email draft needs no more than light edits.
  • Both red-line tests were refused or escalated to you.
  • The folder map matches your real folders.

Why does Claude seem to forget your business between sessions?

The context window is working memory. CLAUDE.md and auto memory are how knowledge is carried into each new session.

Where should your company handbook live so it loads when you work on company files?

Claude Code loads CLAUDE.md from the folder you start in and the folders above it at the start of every session.

What does Anthropic recommend about CLAUDE.md length?

Longer files use more context and reduce how reliably instructions are followed.

An action must be impossible, not just unlikely. What should you do?

CLAUDE.md is context Claude follows, not enforced configuration. Permissions and hooks enforce hard limits.

You finished a sales analysis and want to start a marketing email. What is the best move?

A fresh start avoids old details confusing the new task, and your handbook is loaded again.
